The Find My app for iOS 14 could include several new advanced and interesting features: 9to5mac colleagues were able to discover some new details by examining no less than a preliminary construction of the operating system, which should be out by mid-September, as is usual with the arrival of the new iPhones.
The weather detail is important because it helps to understand how immature the information that has emerged so far is: things discovered could change, increase or decrease. In short: it is information that must be taken with the necessary precautions.
New features in Find My application
In any case, here are the details in brief:
- New notifications for the location sharing feature – You can set up to receive notifications when a contact you share your location with is not in a certain place at a certain time. From today, you can already know when your children arrive at school, or your partner at work; with the iOS 14 you will be able to know when/if this does not happen. In addition, you can be notified when a user leaves a location before the predetermined time (e.g. at the end of school or work shift). Finally, you can use these notifications to alert other contacts based on your own location, and create alerts by choosing specific days of the week.
- AR mode – AR/VR displays will also be supported. Users will be able to get more precise indications on how to find a device or a person. It may be particularly useful to find lost items in the vicinity, perhaps thanks to the much discussed AirTags that have not yet been revealed.
