Facebook continues to follow closely the innovations introduced by Snapchat to re-propose them on its platforms. This time it’s the turn of the effect of “3D lenses” (increased reality effects) released in April on the yellow social network, today landed on Facebook Messenger under the name of World Effects.
At the moment it is not clear in which markets Facebook has made this new functionality available to users, but it should soon reach everyone, given the interest of the development team in its implementation. Thanks to World Effects, you can insert AR objects into your photos, such as balloons or 3D arrows to indicate certain objects.
Augmented Reality Comes to Messenger with World Effects
Facebook has launched a handful of World Effects to people all over the world. In addition to the heart, which you can see in the video, there is an arrow and the robot, you can also try to play with a unicorn plus word bubbles, such as “love”,”bae”, “heart” and “miss you”. To add a World Effects, open the messenger camera (from your inbox or from inside an existing conversation by tapping the camera icon), and then scroll to choose between the camera effects. Choose an effect and then tap to add to your image.
Facebook has made every effort to bring this innovation to its platform in 2017, but it seems far from complete: in the coming months many more 3D objects are expected to arrive that will enrich the potential of World Effects in Messenger.
