Facebook tests private comments to improve user privacy

Facebook is always looking for new features to make its social platform more complete and accessible. If a few days ago some tests had arisen regarding Captcha’s verification with the upload of a selfie, today we refer to a new tool made available to a small group of users that allows them to make private comments to posts.

The functionality is made accessible by means of a padlock icon that appears next to the text to be published. Once clicked, it gives you access to four different viewing options: friends and post owner only; friends only; post owner and commenter only; and everyone else.

Facebook wants to improve privacy with private messages

The possibility of not commenting on a message visible to some contacts can only increase the user’s level of security, thus free to express themselves only to a limited number of people without the fear of having to share thoughts with everyone.

For the time being, it appears that the functionality has been activated, as mentioned above, to a small number of users to test its effectiveness. We will see if in the coming weeks this privacy tool will continue to be implemented and officially available.
