Instagram will have Usage Insights soon

Instagram is working on a number of new features that will allow users to measure the time they spend inside the social platform and tag their friends more quickly in a feedback section and beyond.

The first new feature, called Usage Insights and found in the APK code of the Android version of Instagram, was first anticipated by Techcrunch colleagues and then confirmed on Twitter by Kevin Systrom, CEO and founder of Instagram, with the following statement divided into two tweets:

Instagram is renewed with interesting features

Through a more detailed analysis of the code contained in the latest version of the Instagram APK for Android application, user Jane Manchun Wong was able to anticipate some of the possible innovations that would come with future updates. These include:

  • Button for direct opening of the Facebook application directly from Instagram
  • New “Emoji Bar” contained in the comments section: a new feature that allows you to comment more quickly with the most popular emoji
  • New @ button integrated directly into the comments section to tag your friends faster
  • Respond to Instagram notifications directly from the notification bar and without having to enter the application
  • Share an Instagram story directly to Facebook with an ad hoc button

To date, no information has been received on the possible global distribution of these functionalities.
