Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 introduced to the World

Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 is finally a reality: the new platform was unveiled by the US company during the second Snapdragon Technology Summit in Hawaii, although technical details are still missing today and will not be released until tomorrow.

So not only new in terms of innovative products like ASUS NovaGO and HP Envy X2, the first Windows 10 notebooks with Snapdragon 835. The Snapdragon 845 mobile platform, announced by senior vice president of Qualcomm Technologies and GM for Mobile Alex Katouzian, represents the future of mobile technology and is the result of work at the Samsung Electronics foundation.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 to debut in 2018

According to ES Jung, president and general manager, foundry business, Samsung Electronics:

I am proud to join Qualcomm Technologies on stage at the Snapdragon Technology Summit. As the foundry partner for the Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform, we look forward to our continued collaboration. Samsung Foundry continues to reduce power consumption and increase performance in process technology and we look forward to the success of Snapdragon 845 in 2018.

Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, was also on stage, who announced that the next high-end brand will be equipped with the Snapdragon 845.

I am very excited to be part of the Snapdragon Technology Summit and reaffirm that Xiaomi’s close relationship with Qualcomm Technologies in the premium tier will continue into 2018. Xiaomi is committed to making devices that combine cutting-edge innovations in technology and beautiful design, while defying price expectations, and we have chosen Snapdragon 845 to power our next flagship smartphone.

 

Qualcomm today announced the launch of the first Always Connected PCs with Snapdragon 835 and has entered into partnerships with a number of industry players including Microsoft, ASUS, Sprint, HP, AMD, Xiaomi and Samsung Electronics. In particular, Qualcomm has revealed that its technology will soon be applied to AMD’s Ryzen mobile processor-based platforms for Ryzen handsets with Radeon Vega graphics.
