WhatsApp now allows you to mute chats through the notifications panel

WhatsApp continues to evolve thanks to the relentless work of its developers who are preparing new updates, testing them with beta versions. With the version 2.18.216 beta for Android, a new improvement in the available functionalities was introduced, which continues to enhance the role played by the notification centre, allowing the execution of certain functions to be accelerated by means of shortcuts.

In the above version it is possible to silence a chat by pressing the corresponding “MUTE” button, which is displayed when the number of messages received from a single conversation exceeds 51. This feature is already enabled for users who choose to use the latest beta version of the client.

Note that if the messages (received from the same chat) are less than 51, the mute button will not appear. In this condition, the “Mark as read” button will be displayed – which allows you to mark messages as already read – seen in the previous beta version 2.18.214, but not yet activated.

Stickers prepare to land on WhatsApp

Once again, the stickers are one of the novelties that will be introduced later. Development has been underway for several months, but is not yet complete.

Traces of the new feature have been found in version 2.18.218 beta for Android, as reported by WABetaInfo which refers to the preview capability of the stickers, and buttons to add and update sticker packages that will be made available through the dedicated shop. However, it is not known when the stickers will be part of the standard WhatsApp package.

If you want to get the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android with all the new features not yet released in the stable version, we recommend you download the application installation file ( APK). Here’s a download link: APK Mirror.
